I have been to this camp ...Thank You for this ost . I have been to this camp and was also boggled by its suburban nature . The fact that such utter cruelty could happen over peoples back fences beggars belief . The fact that the tram line runs from the Jewish quarter of Berlin straight to the concentration camp area also means that right from its earliest times it was destined to hold Jews as well as all the other "undesirables". The actual camp is horrific but the banality which was the ordinariness of its location and then the claim that "we did not know" is ultimately more disturbing to me .
