Competition to win a copy of Jennifer Donnelly's Revolution (UK only).

He was Louis-Charles who technically became Louis XVII on the death of his father.

The answer is: His Christian name was Louis-Charles but then he became Louis XVII.

Louis xvii, also known as Louis-charles. I remember hearing readings from the Deborah Cadbury book about his life and his last year of life was absolutely grim.
