Beck, in the book of that name by Mal Peet and Meg Rosoff, is changed by very different sexual experiences at different points in his life, but that first experience with the creepy pedophile priest certainly informs his character and the way he acts from that moment onwards.

I spent a while thinking about this, there are various characters whose world are changed by their sexual awakenings, but I think the one that made me sit up and take notice was a much tamer affair and older story but for me came at the right time and in the right way to help me understand the coming changes for myself too. I loved reading Heidi books by Johanna Spyri, and her relationship with Peter, as well as her own growth from small girl to young lady! Not the same as many of the modern stories I know but one that means something to me.

I've enjoyed a lot of "coming of age" and finding romance for the first time stories - books such as "I Capture the Castle", "Mariana" by Monica Dickens or even Jane Eyre. Sexual awakening is rather more specific though. The obvious example is perhaps "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin but I'd also add " Oranges are not the only Fruit" and there is always Lady Chatterley of course.
