Monarch's Obsession:
Another Monarch's obsession was to do with King Henry VIII the obsession that he had was an obsession with producing a male heir that one day would be his successor when he eventually died. We can see Henry's obsession with producing a male heir by his 6 marriages. If his wife couldn't give him the male heir that he desired so much then he would get rid of her. Which we can see with his marriages to Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.

Queen Victoria had an obsession with Death. Her husband Albert died in 1861 at the young age of 42 and She mourned his death for 40 years. For the rest of her reign and life she wore black.

Not sure that it was an obsession but apparently King James I wore padded clothes because of his fear of assassination. I imagine many monarchs were worried on that score; it says something for James that although descriptions of him are hardly flattering he was widely mourned.
